Family Court Consulting

Clear, solutions focused, limited‑scope legal guidance for Washington pro se litigants.

Supportive. Structured. Professional.

Navigating Family Court with Clarity

Family court can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re representing yourself. Many people walk into hearings unsure of what to expect, how commissioners make decisions, or how to prepare their documents and arguments.

This service offers limited‑scope legal consulting to help you understand your case, organize your materials, and prepare for hearings with more confidence and clarity.

You receive:

·  ··         guidance on your case posture

·         help understanding procedures and timelines

·         support preparing declarations and motions

·         strategic insight for upcoming hearings

·         a calm, steady professional to help you stay organized

This is legal consulting and document support. It is not litigation or courtroom representation.

HOW WE WORK

A clear, structured process designed to give you stability, clarity, and control — the opposite of the family‑court experience.

Family court often feels unpredictable, confusing, and opaque. This service is intentionally built to be the opposite: transparent, structured, and calm. Every step is clear. Every boundary is defined. You always know what is happening and why.

Here is exactly how the process works from start to finish.

1. Begin With a No‑Cost Intro Call (15 minutes)

Before any paid work begins, we start with a short, no‑cost Zoom or phone call. This call is not legal advice — it is an orientation.

The purpose is simple:

  • understand what you are facing,

  • identify the specific task or hearing you need help with,

  • determine whether limited‑scope consulting is the right fit,

  • and help you choose the correct service option.

You leave this call with clarity and direction — before spending anything.

2. Choose the Service Structure That Fits Your Needs

After the intro call, you select one of the structured options:

  • Triage Session (1.5 hours) — focused issue identification and immediate next steps

  • Drafting Block (3 hours) — drafting support for motions, declarations, or responses

  • Monthly Consulting Retainer — ongoing guidance for active cases

  • Unbundled Hourly Support — flexible, task‑specific help

All services are prepaid. This protects your expectations and ensures the boundaries of limited‑scope consulting remain clear and sustainable.

3. Sign Your Engagement Agreement

Once you choose your service option, you receive a customized Limited‑Scope Engagement Agreement to sign electronically.

This agreement:

  • defines the scope,

  • sets the boundaries,

  • explains what is included and excluded,

  • and ensures we both have a clear, shared understanding.

Nothing is hidden. Nothing is implied. Everything is spelled out.

4. Schedule Your First Working Session

After signing, you receive a scheduling link for your first working session.

This session is structured and focused:

  • we review your goals, deadlines, and case posture,

  • identify immediate tasks,

  • and begin work within the scope you selected.

You remain self‑represented throughout. I do not appear in court, communicate with opposing counsel, or act as litigation counsel.

5. Work the Plan — Calmly and Clearly

Each session is dedicated to the specific tasks you have chosen:

  • procedural guidance

  • hearing preparation

  • drafting support

  • constitutional framing

  • case organization

You always know what we are doing, why we are doing it, and what comes next.

6. Additional Work if Needed

If you need more time after your prepaid block or retainer is used, you may request additional work.

I may continue working at my discretion and invoice you for the additional time. Invoices not paid within 30 days accrue interest at 1% per month (12% per annum), consistent with Washington law.

This keeps the process predictable and fair for both of us.
